Toss your diet books and calorie counters on the bonfire. Noone but you is in control anymore. Reclaim your power and learn to listen the subtle messages of your body. You will be surprised at its innate wisdom. Think of how natural it is when an infant pushes away the bottle or the breast after they have had their fill. You'll be doing the very same thing soon enough. Remember -- When you allow yourself to eat whatever you want, whenever you want, you begin to want different things. Week 2: Honor Your Hunger – What do you really want? You will learn to distinguish between the different types of hunger: biological, taste, practical, and emotional. By being able to accurately gauge your biological hunger, you will be able to stop eating when you are full. This is your first introduction to the world of energy coaching.You will be (re)taught to listen for the messages that lurk beneath your cravings for more when you're really not hungry. Now that you can recognize the different types of hunger, you will become increasingly aware of times when it is your emotions and not biological hunger that is causing you to crave food. This is a great breakthrough, but now you need to learn other ways of dealing with those thoughts and feelings, and that is what we will deal with in this session. Instead of eating for comfort, you will learn more yummy food free ways of easing emotional pain, facing challenges, and shouldering responsibilities. The support of your new binge blastin’ buddies will enhance this discovery process. Week 3: Silence the Screaming Meanies - Learn to say "No" to the old food critics and coppers counting your Oreos This week is dedicated to evicting those out-of-control internal food critics who have made your mealtimes a misery. Does: “Don’t eat that you fat moron, you know how many calories are in there” ring any bells? You will learn how to transform the negative, useless voices of the Screaming Meanies into the positive, helpful characters you will come to know as Food Freud, Nurturing Nana, Rebel Belle, and Nutrition Buddy. With this new team on board, you will develop a greater awareness of what is right for you, with no more sabotage from the old lineup. Week 4: Change Your Thinking From Fat to Thin: Recognize the Mind/Body Connection Learn the importance of changing from the inside out. Your body is listening to you so tell it what you want and play down what you don’t. Watch your language, young lady and mind your p’s and q’s, find what words you need to eliminate from your vocabulary. Learn about the astonishing findings and the latest research in the field of mind/body medicine. Yes. Your thoughts can make you fat! Week 5: Feed Your Body through Movement – Have fun moving again! While we are ditching the old concept of deprivation-based diets, let’s also throw out the old exercise mantra of no pain, no gain. This week we will introduce a radical new take on exercise: It can be fun; it can be something that we want to do, not something onerous that we have to do; and it can be a friend, one that you can rely on to energize and oxygenate your cells. Using a technique derived from Neuro Linguistic Programming, your exercise experience can be changed from grueling workout to fun-filled “playout.” Oh…and we might even lose some weight while we’re at it. Week 6: Respect Your Body Pull out of the blame game and, instead, be gentle with your body. In the past you may have set unrealistic weight goals; accept yourself for the wonderful, unique person you are—physically, mentally, and spiritually. Loving and accepting yourself with these new thoughts and beliefs around food and treating yourself with more respect and love is truly the key to happiness. Week 7: Eat foods that Kiss Your Spirit By this stage, you will have learned a lot about your old eating habits and how they were largely driven by deprivation. Now you know that you can be in control of what, when, and how much you eat. You set the rules, and the pace at which they are applied. You will also develop a real hunger for nourishing foods that you love to eat, and, with the help of your in-house mental-health team: Food Freud, Nurturing Nana, Rebel Belle and Nutrition Buddy, you will be on the path to effortless weight loss. Week 8 – Graduation – Welcome Back To Your Life! It’s taken a while, but now you know that you truly can trust yourself around food, pay attention and honor your body and treat yourself with loving kindness and most of all say, a loving and firm “NO” to those who doubt your strength and abilities.
